On September 19, 2011 Recess Rocks joined the New Britain Youth Network for an invigorating hour and a half interactive workshop. The 28 participants—from college students to program directors, all serving New Britain schoolchildren in afterschool programs—got fired up moving to Recess Rocks’ “Amethyst” recess class. After cooling off for a moment they settled right into learning about the Recess Rocks philosophy, methodology and best ways to bring the programs to children in their care. The group then designed their own mini recess class and wrapped up moving to their creation!
This Recess Rocks workshop was part of the four-day, 6th Annual Training Academy, sponsored by the American Savings Foundation and open to youth program personnel in the New Britain, Connecticut area.
